Do you remember the holiday Dano that we introduced in our June feed?

In the past, women collected dew from irises to use as a toner and sometimes washed their hair in water in which irises had been boiled during Dano.

There is a famous painting called "Dano Pungjeong" by Shin Yun-bok that depicts women washing their hair using iris water on Dano.
We transformed this painting into a new illustration calendar with BOJ's own MOOD :)
If you look closely at the women in the illustration, you can see some tying up their hair while cleansing their faces.
Also, the pretty flower with a purple color is the iris flower. Back then, women prayed for only good things to happen while caring for their skin with iris.
We made this July Dano Pungjeong calendar to wish you the best of luck!
